European Chess Club Grand Prix 2026

Where Every Move Defines History

About the Grand Prix

The European Chess Club (ECC) Grand Prix is a unified circuit of top-tier chess tournaments across Europe. It is formed by a network of prestigious chess clubs that collaborate to organize high-quality competitive events. The circuit is designed to promote the exchange of athletes between clubs and nations, fostering a spirit of cooperation and high-level competition.

Our Mission

The primary goal of the ECC Grand Prix is to create a standardized and professional environment for chess players. By connecting organizing clubs across Europe, we ensure that every tournament in the circuit offers similar high-quality conditions, FIDE-rated standard play, and professional officiating.

How It Works

The ECC Grand Prix operates on a unique model of reciprocity and cooperation:

  • One Club Per Country: The circuit features a diverse range of locations, with only one club tournament selected per country.
  • Reciprocal Support: Member clubs agree to reciprocal conditions regarding the visiting delegations (including registration, accommodation, travel, and meals).
  • Standardized Format: All tournaments are FIDE-rated over-the-board events with a minimum of 7 rounds.
  • Fair Play: All events are overseen by International Arbiters and strictly follow FIDE-recommended Fair Play procedures.
