Luigi Lain (ITA, Elo 2261) claimed first place with 7.5 points out of 9, finishing ahead of the pair on 7 points — Armenian Arman Ghevondyan (CM, 2204) and Portuguese Paulo Alexandre Monteiro (2222), separated by the Buchholz tiebreak.
Vigevano's colours shone brilliantly: Danilo Covello finished just fractions of a Buchholz point from the podium zone, claiming an outstanding 4th place overall with 7 points out of 9 — his best performance across five editions of the festival. A result that speaks volumes about the steady growth of one of the Club's most emblematic players.

Liloni Finally Does It: Three Years of Trying, One Glorious Victory
The Under 20 gave the audience at the Castello Sforzesco the kind of ending that sporting novels are made of. Francesco Mattia Liloni (ITA, Elo 2124) won the 5th International Junior U20 Tournament "Città di Vigevano" on tiebreak after three players finished level at the top on 7.5 points out of 9.
For the young player from Brescia, this was the culmination of a three-year journey: in at least two previous editions, Liloni had come agonisingly close to the top step, only to be edged away by the narrowest of margins. Sharing the same score behind him: French player Alexis Munier (2084, second on Buchholz) and Vigevano's own Riccardo Treccozzi (2138, third), completing a podium of rare quality.
Riccardo Treccozzi is one of the terribili vigevanesi — the young core that carried ADSV's first team to a historic promotion to Serie A2 (Italian chess's second national division) just weeks before this event. A third-place finish to cap off a summer that will be remembered for a long time.
Further outstanding Vigevano performances: Alessandro Lucchi (2162, fourth place overall with 7/9) proved once again that he is among Italy's best under-20 players. Gabriele Valerio Rossi claimed the title of best Under 18 player in the tournament, finishing with 7 points — a display of remarkable chess maturity for his age.
